Banks Lyon jewellers are beginning a new venture in Kendal, 32 years after Rodney Banks Lyon unveiled his Lancaster independent shop.

After decades of serving the people of Lanchire, the family-run firm is launching its second branch further north.

The new shop is to be located in a prime location at 33 Market Place and is due to open in May.

In 2015 the jewellers welcomed the second generation of family into the business, with Rodney and Jasmin’s daughter maxine and her husband Alexander joining the team.

Managing director Maxine felt the decision to open a shop in Kendal was a natural progression for the company.

She said: “We want to get closer and be more convenient to our customers in Cumbria. We feel we can offer something that isn’t currently available in the area.”

The Kendal showroom will host a range of prestigious Swiss watches from TAG Heuer, Longines, Tissot and Gucci, along with aviation-themed British watchmakers Bremont.

They will also stock a range of fine jewellery and diamonds.
