Marketgate Shopping Centre will host a summer of free family events to keep children entertained throughout the school holidays.

To kick start the school holidays Marketgate Shopping Centre is pulling on its gardening gloves to provide a free ‘Green Fingers’ craft workshop.

On Thursday August 4 between 10am and 4pm, families can join the children’s workshop to decorate a plant pot and plant a seed to take away and grow at home.

Following this on Saturday August 13, Wildlife Wonders returns to Marketgate Shopping Centre. Take the family to meet the beautiful birds of prey from Corio Raptor Care and Rehabilitation Centre; visitors will be able to meet a range of birds including Boo the Eurasian Eagle Owl, Simba the Kestrel and Timone the Barn Owl. The popular shows will take place in the main square between 10am and 4pm.

Corio Raptor will interact with shoppers by introducing the birds and explaining their natural habitat. All birds are friendly and approachable.

On August 24, the wait is over and summer is sure to end on a high as the greatly anticipated Primark store will open for business. Primark will trade from a 45,000 sq ft retail unit. The shop will be operating over two floors and will be the largest store in Marketgate Shopping Centre.
