Carnforths penultimate home game of the season saw Chorley take the spoils with a last play try in a game that saw the lead change hands on several occasions.

Man of the match Sam Tomlinson opened the scoring as he sprinted away for a try, and five minutes later Shaun Hodgson threw a dummy and stepped inside to touch down and add to his team’s lead.

Chorley got back into the game when Highton jinked through for a converted try but the hosts hit back as Sam Edmondson went over under the posts after excellent link-up play between Dan Blenkharn and Tomlinson.

However, two quickly taken tries in the last five minutes of the half saw Chorley take a 21-17 interval lead. Carnforth started the second half well when Jack Edmondson touched down, but in this topsy turvy affair Chorley once again struck back with a well earned converted try.

Kevin Hardy got on the scoresheet soon after with another Carnforth try, and five minutes later Mathew Short was able to go over in the corner, he kicked the conversion to make it 34-28.

Steve Wilkinson extended the lead to 39-28 with a try but Chorley quickly reduced the gap to just four points and with the last play of the game they scored another converted try to snatch the win.
