A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

PC Phil Sallis of Lancaster police said: “The cannabis plants were found as a result of information being given to us by the public.

“Residents are our eyes and ears in our local communities and we continue to appeal to anyone with any information about cannabis cultivation in their area to make contact with us.

“Some of the tell tale signs of cannabis being grown are strange smells and sounds, frequent and varied visitors to a property - often at unusual times, equipment such as plant pots, fertiliser, fans and industrial lighting being taken into a property, windows being sealed and covered, and heat coming from an adjoining property.

“Individually these activities may seem commonplace, however, two or more may indicate something more unusual. #

“If you have any suspicions, get in touch. We will act on all information provided to us.”
