Business women in Lancashire are being invited to an event to help them develop their ventures.

Hosted by the Business Growth Service in association with the Federation of Small Businesses and Natwest, the Listening out Loud seminar aims to give Lancashire female business owners the chance to step out of their daily management role and put their business growth on the agenda.

The event, on June 19 at the Samlesbury Hotel, near Preston, consists of workshops and short presentations given by inspirational and experienced leaders.

Organisers say many entrepreneurs and business owners – particularly women – don’t realise the breadth of help, advice and finance available to them across Lancashire.

Jane Binnion, one of the main organisers, said: “We wanted find out from women what they needed for their growth in business. It is clear that many women start businesses for different reasons from men and this can impact on how and when they are able to benefit from support.

“This day will signpost what help is available in Lancashire, and is a chance for businesswomen to
network.”

Andrew Leeming, senior project officer at Lancashire County Council’s Business Growth and Innovation team, added: “The event provides an opportunity for ambitious small business owners to find out more about the excellent support available from private and public sector providers.”
