A landlord is being sought to take over the lease for a city centre pub which has just received a huge cash injections of £300,000 by owners Punch Taverns.
The Nags Head, situated in Church Street, has been closed since June whilst refurbishment is being carried out and when the pub re-opens it is hoped to create 35 new jobs.
Andrew Stones of Punch Taverns said: “Previously, the pub was looking tired and the refurbishment will drastically improve the overall look and feel.
“We are looking to change and ultimately transform the image of the pub.”
Inside new furniture and fittings made of different materials and fabrics will be introduced, along with new décor and wall art, to give the pub a more contemporary and quirky feel.
Improvements will be made outside, to include new signage, floodlights, and garden/patio area.
“With the new look pub, we are looking for a new partner to run the Nag’s Head,” Andrew continued.
“We are looking for a local businessperson, ideally with previous experience in the pub industry and, more importantly, someone who can share our vision.”
