Sweetest feeling in store for businesswoman

A Heysham sweet manufacturer has beaten hundreds of small businesses to be shortlisted in the national Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2013.

Goody Good Stuff, which specialises in vegetarian gummy sweets, has been shortlisted in the Small Business of the Year category.

The awards are judged by a panel of experts including leading businesswoman and star of BBC1’s The Apprentice, Karren Brady, with the winners due to be announced in September.

If successful, Goody Good Stuff will win £2,000 cash, and 50,000 Nectar points which can be spent with a host of leading companies.

Managing director Melissa Burton will also be invited to aNectar Business Round Table event where she will get business advice from lead judge, Karren Brady.

Ms Burton said: “I am absolutely delighted to be shortlisted in the Nectar Small Business Awards.

“We work tirelessly striving to do everything to our absolute best so national recognition is amazing.

“I really admire what Karren Brady stands for in the world of business; she’s feminine, ambitious, has fantastic ideas and I would love to meet her at the round table and get some advice.”

Goody Good Stuff has enjoyed global success after being founded in 2010.
