With the support of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, specialist business lawyers joined forces for the first time in Lancaster to stage a legal update seminar covering key issues in employment law.
The seminar, hosted by Baines Wilson LLP, the commercial Legal 500 recommended law firm based in Carlisle and Lancaster, provided an opportunity for line managers, company owners/directors and Human Resource professionals to receive the latest legal guidance.
The seminar, which was held at the Lancaster House Hotel, was led by solicitor Joanne Holborn, Head of Employment and Employment Training at Baines Wilson and her team of expert employment lawyers and Pete Monaghan, Area Director of ACAS North West also spoke at the event.
Nearly 100 delegates attended the series of seminars and were given practical advice covering long term ill health dismissals, new developments over sickness absence and holidays, an update on the Equality Act 2010 as well as a general case law and legislation update.
Attendees at the seminars commented that the “Speakers were very knowledgeable and used plain English” and “very informative and relevant to the workplace and everyday situations” and “Easy to understand and good coverage of the changes and updates coming up.”
Joanne Holborn said: “Our Employment Law Update seminars are well known throughout Cumbria and with the opening of our new offices in Lancaster, we are delighted to bring our seminars to Lancashire, for the benefit of the local businesses.”
