Play area bring jobs to Lancaster

CHRISTMAS has come early for children in Lancaster as the country’s longest indoor play slide arrives in Dalton Square.

The Zone soft play area is due to open to the public on Monday December 19, in the former Cuba nightclub, with an 8m slide as the centrepiece.

Up to 20 jobs are due to be available in the coming weeks.

But exactly what The Zone in Lancaster will look like is still being kept under wraps until it officially opens.

Husband and wife owners Gillian Peet and Jeff Farrow, from Silverdale, opened their first indoor play area, The Zone at Greenlands Farm, Tewitfield, three years ago, followed by The Zone in Ulverston last year.

Gillian said that The Zone in Lancaster, which has cost more than £100,000 in total, was initially going to open on December 8, but delays have meant they will now open for pre-booked parties on Saturday, and then to the public at large on Monday.
