Novel approach to cafe society

A NEW bookshop and cafe has opened in Lancaster, giving customers the chance to read and enjoy a brew.

The Novel Cafe, which has opened at the former Flower Stop shop in New Street, sells secondhand hardback books for £2.50 and paperbacks for £1.50.

It also stocks a selection of new books, and sells sandwiches and baguettes, cake, cream tea, English Lakes ice cream and a selection of teas and coffees.

The cafe also exhibits and sells work by local artists and has a children’s play area upstairs alongside a second eating area.

It offers Wi-Fi internet access and also has a computer upstairs.
