The management group of the Lancaster Business Improvement District have appointed a new manager to run the BID day to day.
Liz Hickingbotham is the former co-owner of All Fired Up Ceramics in Lancaster, located in New Street from 2006-2009.
She was also a founding member of the Lancaster City Retail Group within the Lancaster and district Chamber of Commerce, representing the interests of retailers in the town. They made regular representations to Lancaster City Council, the Universities and the local and regional Tourist Associations to promote retail in Lancaster. Liz also co-ordinated events in the city centre to attract visitors into the City to improve footfall and retail spend.
Recently she has spent time working at Lancaster University.
She said: “The opportunity to manage the Lancaster BID is a thrilling and exciting one and it will be a privilege for me to spend time consulting with the businesses in Lancaster and once again representing them. I will look forward to speaking on their behalf to organisations and stakeholders working in the area and I know that businesses will be keen to let me know their views and plans for how best to employ BID funds to improve Lancaster.”
