Morecambe Sailing Club are holding a sailing taster day in June.

The club are offering free sailing sessions to people who have never tried sailing before and more experienced sailors all under the supervision of RYA (Royal Yachting Association) instructors and other highly experienced club members.

Keeping a watchful eye on everyone will be the team on the club safety boat, Sparrowhawk.

Back at the clubhouse, which has just undergone a £61,000 extension and refurbishment programme, will be some of the support team booking in everyone plus essential supplies of tea and coffee from the kitchen.

All necessary kit can be borrowed free of charge.

Commodore, John Gibbison said: “Our taster days are a great experience for all levels of experience and are ideal for families. Hopefully some of the people taking part will want to take up the sport and, perhaps, be welcomed into our club but there is absolute no pressure to do so.”

The taster day is on Saturday, June 20.

A second taster day is planned for mid July.
