The organisers of what many regard as Lancashire’s largest business awards have vowed to make 2014 their best year ever.
Babs Murphy, chief executive of the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said preparations for the annual Be Inspired Business Awards, known as the BIBAs, were being finalised.
She said: “The BIBAs has become known as ‘the one they all want to win’ by companies across Lancashire, and it has achieved that by not resting on its laurels.
“The 2013 awards saw us celebrate the achievements of the heroes of our economy, the business community of Lancashire.
“Now we are putting the final touches to our 2014 awards programme which we promise will be better than ever.”
The awards will officially open for entries on Tuesday, January 14, with hundreds of businesses from across the county expected to enter again.
Judges spend months sifting through the entries ahead of September’s awards ceremony at Blackpool Tower.
In November, the chamber commissioned Lancaster University Management School to carry out a major research project into the BIBAs to assess how business awards are run all over the world.
