PLANS for a new Carnforth Business Park, which could create scores of new jobs, have been backed by city councillors.
The application for the park on greenfield land east of the Kellet Road Industrial Estate next to Carnforth High School was made by Strong Developments Ltd, a company set up by The Brethren to deliver the scheme.
The Brethren are a worldwide fellowship of Christians formed in 1827 who make family life their central concern. Their plans for the site also include a Brethren Gospel Hall.
Local members of the organisation recently announced plans to relocate Whinfield School, an independent church school in Leyland, to the former Hornby High School site from September, where it will be known as Hornby Park School.
The 24,000 sq metre business park includes 13 units, six of which were granted full planning permission by Lancaster City Council’s planning committee, while the others received outline planning approval.
