The 4th Annual Charity Roll Out The Barrel contest was a ‘rollaway’ success for Lancaster Brewery and its chosen charities – Unique Kidz in Morecambe and Piccadilly Support Services in Lancaster.

Held at Lancaster Brewery’s The Brewhouse and Tap, and run in association with Lancaster Round Table, six local teams took part in this year’s Roll Out The Barrel contest – the ultimate charity ale assault course – raising £400 for the two charities.

After a tough contest, Gary Tennant, Eleanor Fowler and Kris Bolwach from Lancaster House Hotel were crowned the winners, raising the coveted Courageous Cask barrel shaped trophy. Team captain Gary Tennant, food and beverage manager at Lancaster House Hotel, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the event and we were extremely proud to take home the prize.”

Chris Duffy, general manager at Lancaster Brewery, said: “This year’s Roll Out The Barrel was the best yet, with non-stop action, great laughs and most importantly, lots of money raised for two amazing local charities. A massive thank you to all the teams who entered and to the crowd who kept the teams going through their tough challenge. We’re already looking forward to next year.”
