Lee Dancy, managing director of Carnforth based Barking Mad Ltd has been nominated and gone on to reach the finals of Business Woman of the Year 2014 in the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAs).
The category is awarded to a lady who has shown initiative, excellent leadership and a proven track record of achievements and is announced Friday September 26 at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
Lee founded Barking Mad Pet Care Professionals in Barbon, near Carnforth, creating a franchise system that provides dogs and their owners with an alternative to house-sitting and kennels where dogs go on dog holidays whilst their owners are away.
Lee launched the business in 2000 and became a franchise in 2002 and now has over 65 businesses right across the UK.
The company is a member of the British Franchise Association and last year won Franchisor of the Year for Support sponsored by HSBC and Express Newspapers.
The Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAs) have been created to specifically recognise those women in The North West who are inspiring others by successfully running their own businesses or are at the forefront of their profession.
