A husband and wife duo are celebrating after they successfully completed the purchase of a popular Forton B&B.

Andy and Gill Osborne secured a six-figure funding package from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to support the purchase of former coaching inn Middle Holly Cottage, which was originally built in 1820.

The couple also hope to open a tea room at the front of the property, which could also provide an additional outlet to sell cakes and pastries from for their Scrummy Somethings Cake Design business.

RBS has supported the purchase with a six-figure fee-free loan provided under the bank’s government backed Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS). The scheme has been specifically designed to offer more support to small businesses by making borrowing more affordable.

Mr Osborne said: “We are thrilled to be the new owners of Middle Holly Cottage Bed and Breakfast. It has been a dream of ours for a long time to own and run our own B&B and we are excited that it has finally become our reality.

“Middle Holly Cottage is already really popular with visitors to the region and we look forward to welcoming both new and existing customers to stay with us.”
