20 Questions...Rachel Gibson

Rachel Gibson, director of Quay Creative

1 What is your earliest recollection?

A family holiday to Spain when I was about five. I remember visiting the set of a spaghetti western, learning to swim and eating cereal with UHT milk for breakfast.

2. What was your first job?

I had a weekend job in a local paper shop when I was 15. I went into retail management when I left school.

3. Happiest memory?

I have so many. My wedding day and the birth of our son Liam are the obvious answers. Other than that, the day I graduated from film school was pretty good too.

4. Biggest regret?

It's easy to wish you'd done certain things differently, but I really think that any decision I've made has ultimately led me to where I am now so it must have happened for good reason.

5. Favourite song or artist?

Favourite song is probably Bring me Sunshine by Morecambe and Wise because it always makes me smile and we played it when Mike and I got married in 2006.

6. Most-thumbed book?

I don't tend to revisit novels once I've read them so it's likely to be an old Delia Smith cookery book.

7. Website most often visited?

Babymaze.co.uk

8. Best-loved food?

Sushi. I moved to Lancaster in 2004 after meeting Mike. It was an easier decision knowing there was a Japanese restaurant at the end of our road!

9. What's your tipple?

A nice chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc or a lime margarita.

10. What's your must-watch TV programme?

I'm a sucker for things like Dragon's Den or The Apprentice. By the time Liam has gone to bed I just need something that doesn't tax my brain too much!

11. A film not to be missed?

The first three that spring to mind are Lost in Translation, Rear Window and The Third Man.

12. Top holiday destination?

Italy. We've been to Florence, Venice, Verona and Tuscany but there's still so much to discover.

13. Which football team's result do you look for first on Saturday?

I'd better say Morecambe in case Mike reads this.

14. Favourite car?

I've never really been that bothered about having a flash car, as long as it gets me from A to B, although I do love watching Top Gear.

15. Pet, past or present?

Apart from a few goldfish when I was younger, I've only ever had a rabbit.

16. Favourite perfume or aftershave?

I've just treated myself to some Elizabeth Arden Pretty, but it's usually Clinique Happy.

17. Which personality would you most like to meet?

I would love to have met Alfred Hitchcock because he was such a quirky character and made films that are still great today.

18. Biggest influence on your life so far?

I think I'd have to say my parents. They encouraged me to be independent, trust my own instincts and not to be afraid to have a go. All these things have helped me seize opportunities as they've arisen even if it's meant taking the odd risk or two.

19. What difference would a lottery win make to you?

I'm very happy with my lot so I don't think it would change my life drastically. Mind you, I suppose we could buy a little place in Italy – maybe I should start getting a ticket!

20. What would be your dream job?

I think I have the best of both worlds at the moment. I manage to juggle running a small business with being a mum and find both very rewarding.
