20 Questions...Neil Simpson

1. What is your earliest recollection?

My sister and I collecting grasshoppers in a glass jar one scorching summer's day in the field outside where we lived in Tyneside.

2. What was your first job?

Apart from a paper round, my first job was stacking shelves in a

supermarket.

3. Happiest memory?

I spent most of my early professional life as a performer; all of my happiest memories are when I am on stage in front of an audience.

4. Biggest regret?

Taking myself too seriously when I was younger.

5. Favourite song or artist?

Rise Up by Chance & Sunkids.

6. Most-thumbed book?

The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks; it manages to be warped and funny and horrific at the same time.

7. Website most often visited?

Ittybiz.com. Naomi rocks and her advice is second to none.

8. Best-loved food?

Japanese food.

9. What's your tipple?

Black coffee or Islay single malt whiskey.

10. What's your must-watch TV programme?

Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

11. A film not to be missed?

Amelie – it never fails to make me smile.

12. Top holiday destination?

I am off to Tokyo in October, somewhere I have been desperate to visit since I was six.

13. Which football team's result do you look for first on Saturday?

Newcastle United, sadly.

14. Favourite car?

My first car, an old style red mini.

15. Pet, past or present?

I have always moved around a lot, so have never really had any pets of my own.

16. Favourite perfume or aftershave?

Probably L'eau d'Issey although I don't wear it that much. It's Ted Baker XO at the moment.

17. Which personality would you most like to meet?

The Dalai Lama or Paris Hilton, they are both hilarious.

18. Biggest influence on your life so far?

I couldn't possibly name him. I still see him a lot and I would never

live it down.

19. What difference would a lottery win make to you?

A lot more travel.

20. What would be your dream job?

Probably something like I am doing at the moment but with significantly more international travel.
