Homestart Morecambe and Lancaster is to receive a £200, 000 grant to help towards helping struggling families.
The cash from the Big Lottery Fund will help the organisation recruit and train 100 more volunteers to visit families in their own home who are finding it hard to cope.
The volunteers will be trained in subjects including commitment and boundaries, crime reduction, depression, bereavement and loss, domestic abuse, listening, confidentiality and child protection.
The money for all projects comes from the Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities programme which helps people and communities most in need. Visit biglotteryfund.org.uk
