THE human figure is the focus of the latest exhibition at what is believed to be the world’s smallest public art galley.
The display at Settle’s Gallery on the Green features works made by the Grassington Group, a group of artists drawn together by their love of drawing the human figure.
Their weekly sessions over the past year have produced pictures in a wide variety of styles and media, and the images shown in this exhibition represent the challenges, struggles and successes of their response to drawing small.
The exhibiting artists are Carine Brosse, David Cook, Jacquie Denby, Val Emmerson, Phil Fraser, Lavinia Hardy, Rob Keep, Chris Murray, David Thomas, Joanna Thompson, Helen Wheatley and Alison Woods.
Each member of the group is a practising artist, and the work is of a high professional standard.
Pictures will be for sale, with would-be buyers given the chance to contact each artist directly.
