AN artist who lives and works in the shadow of Pendle Hill will exhibit her paintings at a Lancaster theatre while its own Lancashire witches drama is staged there.

Joe Hesketh’s exhibition Pendle Investigation, which is on display at the Dukes, Moor Lane, until June 30, has been inspired by the story of the Lancashire Witches.

Joe said: “This work is my creative response to my relationship with a place, its culture and history.”

Joe, who lives in Barrowford, is an oil painter. Pendle Investigation coincides with Sabbat, the theatre’s latest homegrown production.

After a run at at The Dukes, Sabbat is on a national tour. It returns to Lancaster for more performances between July 17-21. The Dukes gallery is open from 10am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday. Call the box office on 01524 598500 to check opening times if you’re making a special journey, as occasionally the space is closed to the public.
