ANYONE who has ever sought solace in wireless should visit John Peel’s Shed in Lancaster on Wednesday, February 29.

For one night only, this special shed can be found in The Round at The Dukes.

John Peel’s Shed follows the story of John Osborne who, 10 years ago, won a competition on John Peel’s Radio One show where the prize was a box of records that took eight years to listen to.

The one-man show is inspired by John Osborne’s debut novel Radio Head: Up And Down The Dial Of British Radio – Radio 4’s Book Of The Week – which tells what happened when John decided to listen to a different radio station every day, all day, for a month.

His journey took him from data entry at Anglia Windows, via interviewing radio greats such as Nicholas Parsons and Mark Radcliffe to presenting his own local radio show.

See the Lancaster Guardian (23-02-12) for full story.
