Review - Latin Night at the Stonewell Tavern, Lancaster
Oh yes it's Latin night and the feeling's right! Oh what a night!
On a quiet Lancaster Sunday evening it was an unexpected delight to step into the Stonewell Tavern for their first ever Latin Night. The windows were already steamy and the music was an infectious blend of Cuban classics, Latin rhythms and more familiar popular tracks with a Latino feel.
The atmosphere was friendly and there was a distinct holiday feel to the evening like night in a caf bar in Havana.
A dance floor had been cleared and it wasn't long before those who could were up and dancing. A certain level of restraint was required on the dance floor but the event seemed to have attracted some pretty impressive dancers from Lancaster's burgeoning salsa scene. There are plenty of classes in the area and if you don't know how to dance, I'm assured that a few lessons will save you! The crowd was both fun and welcoming.
The landlord served complimentary food, played the bongos and proved to be a pretty smooth operator on the dance floor. What more could you ask for?
Hopefully this will be a regular event on the last Sunday of every month at the Stonewell. It's the perfect way to spice up your Sunday night.
