It's all eyes on Cara

IRISH singer Cara Dillon is heading to Morecambe's The Platform with her band tonight, Friday.

Born in 1975 in Co Derry, Cara demonstrated her striking vocal ability in winning the All Ireland Traditional Singing Trophy at just 14 and a year later she joined the band, Oige.

She went on to sing with De Dannan and then folk supergroup Equation, which she joined in 1995 as a replacement to folk singer, Kate Rusby.

Cara found her soulmate Sam Lakeman in the band and the pair decided to try their luck as a duo.

In 2001 the pair released a self-titled album of folk songs, which won several awards.

The show will start at 8pm and tickets cost 15 adults, 14 concessions from the box office.
