Comedy fun continues every Sunday at The Borough pub where you never know, you might see the stand-up stars of tomorrow.
This Sunday (January 25)’s Lancaster Comedy Club line-up includes Nick Doody, one of brightest talents on the comedy circuit.
Sharp and topical – he’s not afraid to say what he thinks. His brand of political comedy and satire has won him fans all over the country.
As well as gigging regularly all over the UK, Nick has also performed in Ireland, Germany, Spain, France and Croatia. Nick is also in demand as a writer for both television and radio.
Nick will be joined by softly spoken Northerner Mike Newall, so laid back he’s almost horizontal.
In much the same way as a dressage rider can make a horse do spectacular tricks without appearing to move, Mike manages to provoke involuntary guffaws from his audience with the sparsest of material.
Take his long and involved explanation of how he’s managed to get through adult life without ever losing a single sock. It really shouldn’t have been funny, but nevertheless it was hard to stifle a laugh.
Also on stage on Sunday at the Dalton Square venue will be Harriet Dyer and MC Martin Mor.
Call 01524 64170 to book. Tickets cost £7 in advance or £9 after 4pm on the day of the show. The show starts at 8pm.
