I WONDER how many people here in Lancaster or on a wider scale are horrified at the government's proposed so-called polyclinics.
I have been with my local Queen's Square surgery for many years and always feel I will get the best of care from my doctor who knows my needs.

Also, all the other doctors and staff have been there when I've needed them.

An A&E department can be a blessing as I recently found out in Devon. My care was second to none, but my hospital stay was so unexpected.

I think we all thank the Lord they are there but I wouldn't like to think I was going into a huge health centre every time I needed to see a doctor.

So I'd like to urge everyone to support the BMA and NHS general practice. You can pick up a leaflet at any surgery or go on-line at www.supportyour surgery.org.uk.

We need our NHS General Practice and the good staff that run them. It's time we helped our GPs as they have cared for us.
