Stop boy racers in their tracks

I FEEL there is a growing problem in the form of 'boy racers' driving round at ridiculous speeds whilst creating ridiculous noise in doing so.
I feel that if action were taken against these morons who usually drive these 'moded' cars, our towns like Lancaster and Kendal would be so much nicer. Not to mention safer.

Where I live, you can get woken up by them and even feel the roar through the floor.

I don't have a problem with these people modifying a car as a hobby.... but when it impacts on other people it should not be legal.

There is no point whatsoever in these loud exhaust systems, all it does is annoy a lot of people. It is so easy for people to just sit back and hope they will go away and not do anything about it, even though it's frustrating them.

It just needs the police to apply existing laws. But then they could also apply the laws about messing about with numberplates or using mobile phones while driving too. Or why can't traffic wardens or Community Officers report people? It seems that letting people ignore all these little laws just gets them looking for more to break.
