A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in Morecambe.
His white Honda motorbike collided with a black Vauxhall Vectra in Mellishaw Lane just after 5pm on Tuesday.

The man, who has not yet been named by police, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but died shortly afterwards.

Mellishaw Lane was closed between the Wickes roundabout and White Lund Road for three-and-a-half hours while accident investigation officers were at the scene, near the Volkswagen garage.

Sgt Nigel Ralphson, senior investigating officer, said: "This is a very serious road traffic collision and I would appeal for anyone who has any information to come forward and contact us.

"I am particularly keen to speak to a man in his 50s wearing glasses who stopped at the scene and spoke to staff at the VW garage. His information could be very important."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lancaster police on 01524 63333.
