A MAN was rescued by hovercraft after he became trapped by the tide on marshes off Middleton sands.
The Morecambe Coastguard team was called out at around midday on Saturday, however their lifeboat could not reach the man due to the depth of the water.

A hovercraft was requested while a crew member swam ashore to reassure the man who had been there for almost an hour.

The man was returned to the shore uninjured, but extremely cold.
