A 25-YEAR-OLD Lancaster man died when the car he was driving careered off the M6.
Sean Murphy was killed when the white Honda Civic left the northbound carriageway and smashed into a fence and trees between junction 32 and the Lancaster services near Catterall.

He was released by firefighters following the smash at 4.40am yesterday, which left the car on its roof, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two female passengers from Morecambe suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The northbound carriageway was closed for three hours following the incident.

Witnesses should contact police on 08451 253545 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
