A LANCASTER man conned a 69-year-old pensioner out of £20,000 for work at his home, a court heard.
Zachary O'Connor, 23, of Barley Cop Lane, cold-called the man who lived in Dalton-in-Furness, then charged him what he claimed were reasonable prices for various jobs.
He also drove his victim to the bank so that he could withdraw hundreds of pounds, did not provide any invoices for work and did not tell the man of his legal right to cancel any contract.
At Preston Crown Court, O'Connor pleaded guilty eight charges of fraud by false representation.
He also admitted engaging in a trade or commercial practice which was aggressive between May 12 and October 27 last year.
O'Connor was bailed on condition that he does not enter Dalton-in-Furness and will return to court for sentencing on September 21 after a pre-sentence report has been compiled.
Judge Michael Byrne said all options, including custody, would be considered.
