Mr Cameron said: "It's my first time in Lancaster but I've been to Morecambe in the past. Lancaster is a lovely city with great old stone buildings, and the people have been very friendly.
"The Lancaster seat is very important to us, especially since the boundaries have now changed to include Fleetwood, and we're very confident about winning back the Morecambe seat as well in the next election."
Mr Gallagher said: "It's good to know the Conservatives are taking an interest in affairs in the area."
Earlier today, Mr Cameron visited the Information Centre for Young People in Kensington Road, Morecambe and spoke to teenagers about some of the disadvantages they faced in the area. He then went on to Lancaster Town Hall before meeting estate agents.
