A TEAM of young footballers representing Morecambe FC have won their way to Wembley.
The team of Under 11s from Halton St Wilfrid's have made it through to the national Under 11s Community Cup final, after beating Rotherham 1-0 in the Northern finals held at Bury last week.

The Halton youngsters failed to concede a single goal in the whole event, winning four and drawing one of their group games.

They will now meet the southern representatives in the final, to be played on the day of the League 2 play-off final at Wembley.

Halton won through to the regional finals to represent Morecambe, after beating Dallas Road in the area final at Christie Park recently.

The Shrimps' Football in the Community Officer Janet Preston said: "It is a remarkable achievement for the school and the club and I am so pleased for them.

"The Football in the Community coaches have been involved with Halton for three years now and we know the school and the players well.

"We are delighted for them and we know they will have
an amazing day out at Wembley."
