STOREYS regained the Lancaster Honda North Lancashire League title on Saturday when they beat Ingleton 4-2.
Club stalwarts Andy Sanderson and Steve Stirzaker both scored twice, as Storeys overhauled last year's champions Marsh United to claim their fifth Premier Division title in seven years.

It was a fitting way to bow out for manager Spike Winn, who i
n his season with the club also won the Sam Price Memorial Cup and reached the Adam and Gaskell Senior Challenge Cup final.

He said: "The players have been brilliant to handle. They are the most attentive dressing room I have had in my life.

"The key to winning the title was our great start to the season when we won 13 games in a row.

"We have had a horrendous run-in with three tough away games and to get seven points from those games was fantastic."

Winn is well-known on the local non-league scene, having worked alongside former Lancaster boss Tony Hesketh, most recently at Kendal Town.

The title success comes 37 years after Winn won the North Lancashire League as manager of Newton.

Storeys' Derek Moorby expressed the club's thanks to Winn saying: "Spike is a character but it has always been enjoyable.
"The training was fun but hard work and he got the lads to show a lot of character when we started losing a few games.

"He always gave them the belief that they would bounce back and come back stronger and we did by winning the double."

Storeys have had an excellent all-round season, with the Reserves winning two cup finals and reaching the final week of the season unbeaten in all competitions.
