LANCASTER-based mobile phone recycling company mopay.co.uk has agreed to sponsor Lancaster Boys Boxing club following the attendance of a boxing competition in May earlier this year which included local boxing starlet Patrick Miller.
Director Craig Smith, and Raff Latif, sales manager were shocked to witness the lack of equipment the talented boxers have to share during competitions and as a result made a move to sponsor the club and introduce a mobile phone recycling scheme to h
elp raise funds.

Craig Smith, director of mopay.co.uk said: "Raff and I were stunned to understand how limited the club's equipment is. With so much talent at the club we immediately wanted to help them and after speaking to the club secretary Bob Howard after the fight we agreed to sponsor them moving forwards."

Bob Howard for the boys boxing club said: "We're really pleased that mopay.co.uk has decided to sponsor our club and introduce a mobile phone recycling initiative.

"If we encourage our fighters and their family and friends to recycle phones at the club then we could generate some good funding to help purchase new equipment and facilitate the place better," he added.

Recycling bins will be located at the boxing club for people to conveniently drop off their phones in order to help generate funds for the club.

The sponsorship comes off the back of mopay's agreement as official shirt sponsor for Morecambe FC during season 2008/09.

n Local boxing prodigy, Patrick Miller, part of the Lancaster boys boxing club will be hoping to win the European Youth Champion-ships this month when he travels in Serbia from July 20 to 26.
