* THE Jungle Book swings into Lancaster Grand Theatre next week.

This production originally toured with Birmingham Stage Company for two years to rave reviews and Lancaster Footlights intend to bring an equal mix of half human, half animal to the show with the inventive use of costumes.

The best known of the stories centres on the abandoned man-cub Mowgli who is befriended by the jungle animals.

Along the way he observes a fighting battle between the striking Shere Khan and the lovable character of Baloo, the enticing, sexy but most vicious Indian Python Kaa, and his life saving friend Bagheera.

The unique storytelling of Kipling is preserved with the depth and power of the tales visual portrayal of all the characters.

To be enticed by the hypnotic, mesmerising, slithering movement of Kaa and the sudden frightening roars of Shere Khan call the box office on 01524 64695 and experience the journey with Mowgli.

Tickets cost £6/£7/£8.

The Jungle Book opens on Tuesday and runs until July 11 at 7.30pm.
