THREE of Scotland's most successful young musicians will perform as a trio at Lancaster Grand on Monday night.
Kris Drever, John McCusker and Roddy Woomble have united as, not surprisingly, 'Drever, McCusker and Woomble' for a new album and live concert tour of contemporary folk being billed as 'some of the most original songwriting around'.
Many people in their twenties and thirties (and perhaps forties?) will know Roddy Woomble as the lead singer in Idlewild, although there is little comparison between the sounds.
Roddy's solo debut My Secret is My Silence is a far cry from the raw, aggressive Idlewild songs, but is equally intelligent and refreshing.
Kris Drever is an award-winning, highly acclaimed solo artist and member of anarchic-folk trio LAU.
A 'stunning guitarist and singer', he shares vocal duties with Roddy.
And John McCusker needs no introduction. The successful artist, producer and arranger has appeared on records by the likes of Kate Rusby and Eddi Reader, and has released his own albums to both critical and commercial success.
Tickets are £15, and doors open at 7.30pm. Support comes from Boo Hewerdine and Heidi Talbot.
Tonight at the Grand local rockers Idol Minds, Zoltan, Chase This City, GHD and the Soul Police are preparing to do their bit for the future of the historic theatre.
Expect ska induced pop songs, calypso based soul, punk-pop songs and rock and metal at the Grand Rock Out, which aims to attract a younger audience to the venue. Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are £5.
Just enough space left to say Glasson based singer-songwriters Kate Howden and Paul Jones are back on the 'B' road again. Howdenjones kick off their village hall dates tonight in Bilsborrow, followed by Dolphinholme tomorrow.
With superb arrangements, breathtaking harmonies, down-to-earth virtuosity, Kate and Paul bring you an evening of original northern-tinged music and banter suitable for all the family. The concert's start at 7.30pm and tickets are £6 on the door.
