BEN Salem is not just a dancer – he's just a guy who thinks that he is the one. The one to impress the judges in our Talent On Show competition that is.
Seven-year-old Ben is just one of the hopefuls to enter our search for the talents of people in the district.

And he is set to prove he has bags of talent by performing a full dance routine from Michael Jackson's Billy Jean video, including moon walks, fancy footwork and the odd back flip.

Mum Lisa explained: "He came to me last year and said he had copied something off the internet. He learned the whole routine himself from the Michael Jackson video. When we saw this competition in the paper I asked if he wanted to do it and he said yes. I'm not just a stage-struck mum but he has such talent and just does all this with no help."

Ben, who will be wearing the full Jacko get up including sparkly hat and suit, said: "I like all the stuff he does with his feet. I can do back flips and moon walks."

Ben goes to Morecambe's Westgate Primary School, and has not only been dancing for three years but is a gymnast too.

Genes (or should that be Billy Jeans?) seem to be on his side as mum Lisa is a dancer and runs Strawberry Dance Studios, formerly Heysham School of Dance.

Dad Rein is a bass player and his brother Max, 10, and sisters Izzy, 4, and Honey, 2, all have the rhythm of keen dancers.

If you think you can match Ben in his talent then it's not too late to enter our Talent On Show competition. Whatever it is you can do Lancaster and Morecambe Newspapers want to hear from you.

There's no restrictions – any talent, any age, anybody can enter and there is a cash prize for our winner.

Fill in the entry form and send it to Michelle Jolly, promotions dept, Lancaster and Morecambe Newspapers, Morecambe, LA4 5AG.

Entry forms can be downloaded here or posted out to you by calling 01524 834054.

Registration closes on Friday, April 25 and auditions will then take place on May 2 at Lancaster and Morecambe College.

Successful acts will go through to the live final on June 7 at the college with judges Nathan from 80s band Brother Beyond, DJ and TV personality Lee Watson and local dance school owner Tracey Austin. The event is sponsored by Jo and Cass Hair and Beauty.
