Hear the dawn chorus in Silverdale

EARLY birds will have the chance to discover the secrets of the dawn chorus at a special event at the RSPB's Leighton Moss nature reserve, Silverdale, on Sunday.
The event starts at 4am, but will offer listeners a memorable experience as the dawn chorus builds from the first cheep to a crescendo of bird calls.

It will last around three-and-a-half hours. Costs are £10 (RSPB members £8), which includes breakfast.

For those who prefer to get up a little later, the reserve is holding a 'Birding for beginners: birdsong' guided walk on Sunday May,11 from 7.30 to 10.30am. Costs for this event are £7 (RSPB members £5).

Booking is essential for both these events by telephoning 01524 701601.

*Craven Conservation Group member John Osborne will lead three birdsong walks in Ingleton in the next fortnight. The walks take place on Sunday, May 4 and Sunday May 11. Meet at Ingleton Market Place at 4.30am.

There will also be a dusk chorus walk on Friday May 9, meeting at 8pm. at the same place.
