LANCASTER comedy/ acoustic duo The Cosmic Fingers are hosting a special acoustic event tonight, Friday, at The Park Hotel to celebrate the release of their new album May Contain Adult Humour.
Also on the bill are punk outfit The Guilty Pleasures (playing a one-off acoustic set) and Manchester's folk/punk artist James Bar Bowen. Entry is free, doors 8pm.

Also tonight, take yourself on a blues and soul journey with San Franciscan Derrick "Big" Walker.

Now based in Stockholm, saxophonist and harmonica player Walker has worked alongside many great blues bands, and during his stint with the popular 80s band the Soul Rebels opened up sets for the likes of The Ramones, Dead Kennedys and The Beat.

Recently Derrick signed up for a tour exchange with Lancaster-based band The Convulsions who are hosting him and his Swedish band of blues veterans at the Golden Lion, Moor Lane, from 9pm.

After sell-out gigs featuring top names like Juliette Lewis, British Sea Power, Camera Obscura and Speech Debelle, Morecambe Library will complete their schedule with performances from fresh new sounds Alessi's Ark, Tigers That Talked and Alex Cornish.

And tomorrow night, Lancaster's Electric Free Time Machine and Harvey Lord are on the bill at All Hallow The Eve, "a dark alternative to Hallowe'en with haunting vocals, spacey psychedelic music...within a dark and arty wooded glade". Sounds suitably spooky.

Tickets for the event, which takes place at Fell Foot Wood in Newby Bridge are £14.50 (including camping and parking), or £7 for the evening. Call Barry on 015395 31014.

Tickets for the show, on November 14, are £6, from www.seetickets.com, or 01524 415215.
