CHARLIE Jackson, Elite Football Coach at Heysham High School, was invited by Scotland’s Football Association to deliver his Matrix Soccer Master Class to several schools, before hosting a party of delegates and former professional players, who saw his methods in action.

Mr Jackson, who was born in Dundee but now lives in the Ribble Valley, said: “It was the proudest moment of my life to be asked to coach in Scotland, my home country.

“I was presented with a Scotland shirt afterwards and it is incredible for my coaching to be recognised in that way. It was such an honour for me.”

Mr Jackson has been busy forging a reputation for nurturing young talent.

He has enjoyed a coaching stint with Blackburn Rovers, but has now linked up with Manchester City as his methods continue to attract nationwide attention.

Steven Hamilton, a Scottish FA Football Development Officer, said: “We’d heard a lot about Mr Jackson’s coaching methods and he made an outstanding impression on the young players and the special guests.

“Everyone could see the confidence, concentration, and improvement in them – and Mr Jackson has a real ability to make young people better via his coaching methods.”

Heysham head Maurice Graham said: “Mr Jackson is a fantastic coach and we are very proud of him at the school. He is an inspiration to our students.”
