THE state of Morecambe's public toilets was called into question again this week after a horde of syringes was found in loos on the promenade.
This stash of syringes was found in toilets opposite the Carleton nightclub, regularly used by residents and visitors to Morecambe.

Despite this find, Lancaster City Council have reassured the public that they check the toilets regularly.

Mark Davies, head of direct services, said: "Toilets are visited at least twice per day by council staff.

"Staff are trained to look for and properly deal with evidence of drug abuse which does appear from time to time.

"If members of public find needles in toilets or other public areas they can report the matter on 01524 582491."
